What is Fortify Discipleship at Evolve?

The ongoing mission of building disciples that follow Jesus in every aspect of their life. A disciple is anyone under the teaching of something or someone. Therefore, as disciples of Jesus, we submit our life to the example and word of Christ himself, who emulated the nature of His Father with the endowed help of the Holy Spirit. As Christ followers, we get to share in this everlasting relationship with the Father (John 17:3) and are gifted the same Spirit to navigate life that raised Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11). Discipleship reveals to us the power of both and pushes us to a life devoted to sharing this good news with others.

At Evolve, two major discipleship opportunities are offered to members and non-members alike. Small groups and discipleship classes.

Small groups

A small group of people (8 to 12) that congregate once a week to explore everyday life matters through the lenses of faith and Jesus. For 13 weeks, you and your small group will dive into various issues that impact everyone, be it good, bad, or indifferent. The only distinction is that each conversation will center the word of God to reveal the purposes of our issues and experiences, which ultimately, point us back to God’s glory and sovereignty over our lives. Small groups are a hybrid of onsite meet ups at Evolve and offsite meet-ups across the city. The location of your on small groups is randomized and will solely depend on the group you’re assigned to. Discipleship classes

6 week study intensives that sharpen the sword and equip the believer for spiritual battle in their life (Ephesians 6:12-13). The first five weeks are dedicated to course study (in-person or virtual) while the sixth week culminates the course with a learning assessment and completion ceremony. In 2024, three classes are offered which build upon the former.
